Prowler's Cap

Uncommon head armor from the Prowler set. Grants +25% critical hit chance on backstabs. Even on its own that's a significant bonus for flanking builds — completing the full Prowler set with the Vial and Mask upgrades backstab crits to guaranteed, making every successful flank a devastating strike that also applies status effects.

BackstabCritChance adds a 25% crit chance specifically on backstab hits, which stacks with general crit chance from other items. A cat with any existing crit chance from sources like the Thief set or mutations can push backstab crits to very high rates. In the full Prowler set, all backstabs are guaranteed crits, and the Mask and Vial layer two status effects on top of each doubled-damage hit, making every successful flank a high-impact event.

The Cap is the cornerstone of the Prowler set since crit on backstab is the most universally powerful of the three pieces' effects. It also works well standalone: +25% backstab crit is a meaningful DPS boost for any cat that regularly flanks, without requiring the other set pieces. Pairs well with Thief or Rogue class abilities that generate backstab opportunities, and stacks efficiently with other crit-boosting items in the head slot.
