Prowler Set

The Prowler Set guarantees every backstab attack is a critical hit, removing the RNG from one of the game's highest-damage situations. Any time you can position behind an enemy, the hit is automatically a crit — no luck required. This pairs perfectly with the Thief Set's dodge/crit bonuses and the Feathered Set's movement bonus, and with high-movement builds that can flank freely each turn.

Prowler Set pieces use stealth and ambush-themed gear across head, neck, and face slots. The 3-piece bonus makes backstab attacks automatically critical, converting the normally probabilistic crit chance mechanic into a guaranteed result for all backstabs. Backstab in Mewgenics occurs when you attack from behind an enemy's facing, dealing bonus damage. With Prowler active, that bonus becomes a guaranteed crit on top of the backstab bonus.

Prowler Set is strongest on high-movement builds that can reliably reach backline positions every turn. Feathered Set's +2 Movement directly enables more frequent backstab opportunities. Phoenix Set's double movement makes flanking trivially easy every round. Fly Set's backstab immunity prevents enemies from using the same tactic against you while you exploit it offensively. Compare to Hunter Set: Hunter gives +50% crit chance in tall grass while Prowler gives guaranteed crits on backstabs regardless of terrain. Prowler is more consistent in general and scales harder with builds that commit to flanking as a core strategy.
