Prowler's Mask

Uncommon face armor from the Prowler set. Adds a status effect to backstab attacks. Part of the Prowler set alongside the Prowler's Vial and Prowler's Cap — completing all three guarantees backstab critical hits while also applying status effects on every backstab. Ideal for flanking builds that use movement abilities to get behind enemies and then land devastating, debuff-laden crits.

AddStatusToBackstabs embeds the status effect directly into the backstab damage event, meaning it applies at the same moment as the attack lands. This is distinct from the Vial's separate proc, so the two work alongside each other rather than overlapping. The Mask occupies the face slot, which is competitive, but for a Prowler build the face slot is where this status application lives and there's no equivalent substitute.

The Mask is the debuff delivery piece of the Prowler set. The Cap supplies the crit guarantee and the Vial adds a second status trigger, but the Mask's embedded status is what makes backstabs inherently threatening regardless of other procs. Standalone value is moderate — a status on backstab is only as good as your backstab frequency. Build around abilities or mutations that help you reposition to flank often, and the Mask pays off consistently through a fight.
