Rat Tail

A common trinket from the Rat set that grants +1 LCK. Luck influences critical hit chance, loot quality, and various random outcomes throughout a run, making Rat Tail useful in any build that benefits from favorable RNG. Part of the Rat set with Rat Heart and Rat Bezoar — an accessible set of common trinkets that covers CON, LCK, and reactive defense together.

Rat Tail provides the same +1 LCK as Lucky Penny and Rat Tail, but as part of the Rat set it contributes to a full three-piece synergy. The Rat set's value comes from combining PoisonThorns (Bezoar), CON (Heart), and LCK (Tail) — three different beneficial effects from three common slots, which is an efficient use of all three common trinket positions in the early game.

Hold Rat Tail as part of the full Rat set if you have all three pieces early; the combined defensive and reactive value is one of the stronger all-common setups. Replace it individually when a better LCK source appears (Human Toe at +2, or Golden Tooth at +4) unless breaking the set invalidates set bonuses. In Copycat builds, the +1 LCK doubles — making Rat Tail functionally equivalent to Human Toe without the uncommon rarity requirement.
