A strong pick for cats built around splash damage, blast abilities, or abilities that already have large hit areas, where the amplification multiplies value across the entire affected zone.

AOEBonus can increase either the radius of area effects (covering more tiles) or the damage multiplier of area hits (dealing more per target), or both, depending on how it interacts with each ability. Abilities that already have wide AoE reach become dramatically more effective, while narrow AoE abilities may expand into multi-target coverage they previously lacked. This passive applies to all AoE abilities on the cat simultaneously, making it a universal amplifier for the entire kit.

The Ring of Mushrooms is best-in-slot neck armor for any cat with a kit dominated by AoE abilities, and dead weight for single-target builds. Evaluate the cat's ability list before equipping: if even two abilities hit multiple targets, the neck slot amplification is usually worth it over alternatives. Synergizes powerfully with mutations or other items that further amplify AoE damage or expand ability range, stacking the coverage benefit multiplicatively.
