Splinters

Splinters is a weapon that provides STR +1 at the cost of CON -1, offering a modest strength boost in exchange for a small hit to durability. As a weapon, it is a basic offensive option that favors STR-based characters who can make use of the attack boost while tolerating the HP reduction.

STR +1 scales with every ability or attack that uses physical damage, making the bonus broadly useful rather than niche. CON -1 reduces max health, which matters more on characters who are already low-health. With no special passives or abilities attached, Splinters is a straightforward stat-swap weapon — pure offensive utility with a small survivability cost. The net value depends on how much your build leverages STR versus how much it needs CON.

Works well as an early-run weapon for STR builds before better options appear, or as a permanent choice for builds that already have strong survivability through Shield or other defensive items. Compare to other weapons of similar rarity to determine if STR +1 is the best trade available. On classes that scale heavily off STR, even a +1 translates to a consistent damage increase across the run. Avoid on casters or support builds where STR provides no value.
