Survivalist's Gaiter

The Survivalist's Gaiter is a neck armor in the Survivalist set that grants 40% dodge chance while standing in tall grass, and starts each battle with 1 Stealth stack — which is lost the moment you use a basic attack. The opening Stealth gives you one guaranteed undetected turn to reposition or set up before engaging. The 40% dodge in tall grass is significant for cats that can hold position in grassy terrain.

Part of the Survivalist set alongside the Survivalist's Mask. The Stealth loss on basic attack is a real limitation — it rewards patience and ability-based play over immediately swinging. Cats with ranged abilities or who can wait for the right moment get more out of the opening Stealth than aggressive melee cats who attack immediately.

The 40% dodge in tall grass is where the real sustained value lies. Pair with the Glowing Seed trinket (spawns tall grass on basic attack hits) so the wearer generates their own dodge bonus terrain with every swing — attack, create grass, stand in it, dodge. This combination turns the grass-dodge condition into a self-sustaining mechanic. In fights on maps with pre-existing tall grass, the dodge window activates immediately, making the Gaiter particularly strong in outdoor encounters.
