Upper

A single-use consumable that grants +5 Speed for the rest of the battle. Speed determines turn order and movement range, so a +5 temporary boost can let a slower cat act before dangerous enemies or reach targets they'd normally fall short of. Doubles to +10 Speed with the Stomach trinket.

Speed in Mewgenics governs both initiative (who acts first) and how far a character can move per turn. A +5 Speed boost can meaningfully shift turn order in your favor, letting a cat that would have acted after a dangerous enemy go first instead. The rest-of-battle duration makes Upper particularly strong in longer fights where acting earlier consistently compounds advantages. The Stomach trinket doubling the effect to +10 Speed makes stacking the two extremely potent for speed-focused strategies.

Upper is best used at the start of a fight to reap the full benefit across all turns. Assign it to cats that have strong actions to take but are bottlenecked by low Speed — a hard-hitting attacker acting sooner can delete a threat before it has a chance to respond. Combined with Stomach for the +10 effect, Upper becomes a powerful opener for speed-oriented teams. Save it for challenging encounters rather than spending it on routine fights where turn order doesn't matter as much.
