The Future

The Future is an Act 3 Chapter 2 alternate location set in a bleak dystopian timeline ruled by a fascist regime. The environment features industrial corridors, propaganda-covered walls, and high-tech security systems that create a distinctly oppressive atmosphere. Electrified floor panels and turret emplacements serve as environmental hazards, making movement through the area feel like navigating a fortified prison complex.

The enemy pool consists of robotic soldiers, mechanical drones, and augmented guards that rely heavily on electric-element attacks. Electric damage is extremely prevalent here, and the Shock status effect can chain between cats standing adjacent to each other, making tight formations dangerous. Spread your team out and prioritize earth-element abilities, which ground electric attacks and deal bonus damage to the mechanical enemies. Avoid using electric-element abilities yourself, as most enemies here absorb or redirect electrical damage.

The boss of The Future is Hitler III, a heavily armored mech-suit opponent who combines devastating electric AoE attacks with the ability to summon waves of drone reinforcements. The fight has multiple phases where Hitler III upgrades his weapons systems, increasing the variety and danger of his attacks as the battle progresses. Destroying the drone generators early in the fight prevents the arena from becoming overwhelmed, and focusing burst damage during the transition windows between phases is the most reliable strategy.

The Future serves as an alternate path through Act 3 Chapter 2, branching off from the same progression point as The Ice Age. Players can choose which timeline to explore first, though both must eventually be completed to reach the final areas. The Future's rewards lean toward tech-themed equipment and abilities that complement electric and mechanical builds.
