Bruise

Bruise is an accuracy debuff that reduces the afflicted unit's damage output on its next attack or for a set duration. Unlike Blind, which causes attacks to miss entirely, Bruise allows attacks to connect but weakens their impact, making it a softer but more consistent form of offensive suppression.

Bruise is commonly applied by blunt-force attacks and impact-based abilities. It is less dramatic than control debuffs but adds up over time, especially when multiple Bruise sources stack on the same unit. Bruise is particularly relevant in longer fights where sustained damage reduction can meaningfully extend your team's survivability. The Leprosy disorder causes cats to start each battle pre-bruised, though it compensates with food drops from attacks.
