Status Effect
Elite Buff: Twin
Half health. Comes with a twin.
Internal engine status effect. This is the status applied to elite enemies with the Twin modifier. Twin causes the elite enemy to spawn a duplicate of itself at the start of combat, doubling the threat. The clone receives the Sub Twin status and is typically weaker, but the combined action economy of two enemies makes Twin one of the most dangerous elite modifiers.
Twin effectively doubles the number of attacks, abilities, and movement actions the enemy gets each round. Even though the clone has reduced stats, it still uses the same ability set as the original, meaning any dangerous abilities are duplicated. In encounters with other enemies present, the extra body from Twin also complicates positioning and can block escape routes.
Eliminate the Sub Twin clone first to restore normal action economy as quickly as possible. Area-of-effect abilities hit both the original and clone, making them highly efficient in Twin encounters. Crowd control like Stun on either copy halves the incoming pressure for a turn. The boss variant, Elite Buff: Twin (Boss), creates even stronger clones when applied to boss enemies.
