Status Effect
Lose Shield Next Turn
None
Internal engine status effect. Marks the unit's Shield status for removal at the start of their next turn. This creates a one-turn delay before shield loss, giving the unit one final protected turn.
Used by mechanics that grant temporary shields lasting only a single round, or by effects that strip shields with a warning delay. The unit retains full Shield protection during the current turn but loses all Shield at the start of their next turn. This allows the unit to benefit from the Shield for one more round of incoming attacks before it expires.
This mechanic is invisible to players but affects timing-sensitive strategies around Shield management. If a unit has both Shield and Lose Shield Next Turn, maximizing damage or defensive value from the remaining Shield before it disappears is the optimal play.
