Mana Leeches

Drains {stacks} mana at the end of the round.

Mana Leeches is a resource-draining debuff that siphons 1 mana per stack from the afflicted unit at the end of the applier's turn, transferring that mana to the applier. This drain targets mana rather than health, making it particularly devastating against spellcaster builds that depend on mana to function. Without mana, a spell-focused cat is reduced to basic attacks and movement.

Like its health-draining counterpart Leeches, Mana Leeches triggers on the applier's turn end and transfers the drained resource to them. Killing the applier stops the drain entirely. The mana transferred fuels the enemy's own spell casting, making them more dangerous while starving your cats of resources. This dual effect of weakening you and empowering the enemy makes Mana Leeches a high-priority debuff to address.

When facing Mana Leech-applying enemies, prioritizing the source stops both the drain and the enemy's mana gain. Cats with high Charisma (larger mana pool) are more resilient to Mana Leeches but still suffer from the ongoing drain. Builds that rely primarily on basic attacks and non-mana abilities are naturally resistant to this debuff, as they do not depend on mana for their core output.
