Mana Leeches

Mana Leeches drains mana from a unit each turn, steadily depleting their ability resource pool. A cat afflicted with Mana Leeches watches their mana tick down over time, eventually leaving them unable to cast spells or use mana-costing abilities.

Mana Leeches is a slow-burn debuff that becomes increasingly dangerous as the fight goes on. Casters should front-load their expensive abilities while they still have mana rather than saving them for later. Cleanse Mana Leeches early on mana-dependent cats. Physical attackers can largely ignore this debuff. The effect may also transfer drained mana to the unit or enemy that applied it, making it doubly valuable as both offense and resource denial.
