Rot
Hatches a Fly at the end of its turn. Damage from worms and bugs always crits against this.
Rot is a debuff that spawns 1 Rot Fly per stack on an adjacent tile each turn. These Rot Flies are aligned with the team that applied the Rot, meaning they fight against the afflicted unit. Stacks reduce by 1 each turn, so the effect decays naturally, but each turn of Rot generates new hostile flies that persist on the battlefield even after the Rot expires.
The spawned Rot Flies inherit properties based on the afflicted unit's tier. Champion-tier units spawn Champion Rot Flies, and Elite-tier units spawn Elite variants, making Rot more dangerous when applied to powerful enemies or your own high-tier cats. If a unit dies while Rotting, its corpse continues to spawn flies each round until the stacks expire, making even death unable to fully escape the effect.
Rot creates a progressively worsening battlefield situation as flies accumulate. Even if each individual fly is weak, multiple spawns over several turns can overwhelm a team with action economy. When applied to enemies, Rot is a powerful attrition tool that generates free allies. When applied to your cats, cleansing Rot quickly prevents the enemy from gaining a numerical advantage.
