The Hollowing

StatusCharactersOnRoundEnd: {"Conditional_GoodRoll":{"odds":25,"Conditional_Corpse":{"Revive":50,"Madness":5}}}

The Hollowing is one of the most dangerous weather effects in Mewgenics, introducing a resurrection mechanic that can turn the tide of battle against you at any moment. Under The Hollowing, every corpse left on the battlefield has a 25% chance to resurrect with full HP and 5 stacks of Madness.

A 25% resurrection rate might sound manageable, but in practice it means roughly one in every four enemies you kill comes back. In a fight with 8 enemies, you can statistically expect 2 resurrections over the course of the battle. Each resurrected enemy returns at full health, erasing all the damage you invested in killing it, and the Madness 5 status makes them berserk: they attack randomly, targeting any unit on the field including other enemies, with increased aggression and unpredictable behavior.

The berserk behavior of resurrected enemies is a double-edged sword. A Madness 5 enemy might attack your cats, or it might turn on its former allies, dealing damage to the remaining enemy roster for free. However, relying on this randomness is not a viable strategy, since there is an equal chance the berserk enemy will target your cats, potentially dealing devastating damage to an already-weakened team.

Repositioning away from corpses after every kill is essential. If a corpse does resurrect, you do not want your cats standing next to a full-health berserk enemy. Abilities that push enemies away before killing them (so the corpse lands far from your team) or abilities that destroy or consume corpses entirely are exceptionally valuable under The Hollowing.

Corpse-based builds, including abilities that interact with or benefit from corpse positions, should be completely avoided during this weather. Any mechanic that relies on corpses remaining on the field is directly at odds with The Hollowing's resurrection mechanic.

The Hollowing can appear in any biome and is classified as a rare weather. It demands constant awareness of corpse positions and forces a more cautious, repositioning-heavy playstyle.
