Moon Hand is one of the two hand entities that function as sub-bosses during the Man In The Moon encounter on The Moon in Act 2. Rather than being a standalone boss, each Moon Hand acts as a separate enemy that the player must redirect and manipulate to break the Man In The Moon's Brace defenses. The hands are the central puzzle element of this unique encounter, functioning more as environmental hazards to exploit than conventional enemies to damage.
The Moon Hand's attacks include slam and punch motions that target your cats, but the critical mechanic is that the Man In The Moon loses Brace stacks when he punches himself. This means the player's objective is to position their cats and manipulate the hand's targeting so that it strikes the boss's face instead of your team. Each successful self-punch strips Brace, gradually making the boss vulnerable to direct damage.
Position your cats to bait the Moon Hand into attacking angles that will cause it to hit the boss rather than your team. Knockback and displacement abilities that redirect the hand's trajectory are extremely valuable. Once the Brace is stripped, switch from hand manipulation to direct damage on the now-vulnerable Man In The Moon. This encounter rewards creative positioning and understanding of enemy targeting over raw damage output.
