The Child is one of the final phases of The Creator's boss fight in The Infinite, representing the magical counterpart to The Father's physical attacks. The Child uses a unique spell rotation system where each attack is tracked by a counter, creating a puzzle-like combat layer where every hit you deal brings a specific spell closer to activation. Managing these counters is the final test of strategic thinking in Mewgenics' ultimate boss encounter.

The Child alternates among three spells in succession: Purity (red), Pulse (blue), and Wrath (gold). Each spell has a counter that starts at 7 points and ticks down by 1 each time The Child is hit by an attack, weapon, or ability. When the counter reaches zero, that spell is cast and the rotation advances to the next spell. This means you have indirect control over when each spell fires by choosing how many hits to land per round. Timing your attacks to avoid triggering dangerous spells at bad moments while still dealing consistent damage is the core strategic challenge.

Track the counter carefully and plan your attack cadence so that dangerous spells fire when your team is positioned safely. Multi-hit abilities advance the counter faster, which can be either an advantage (rushing through a weak spell) or a disaster (triggering Wrath unexpectedly). Single high-damage attacks are easier to count than rapid multi-hit chains. DoT effects do not advance the counter, making them pure bonus damage without risk. Coordinate with your team's attacks on The Father to ensure you are not accidentally triggering a lethal spell from The Child while repositioning from a slam. This is the final stretch of the game's longest fight, so every decision matters.
