Autism

Provides unique focus abilities. Cats with Autism are exceptionally good at casting spells they were born with.

Autism provides unique focus abilities and makes cats exceptionally good at casting spells they were born with, imposing CHA -1 as a penalty. The enhanced innate spell casting means abilities the cat starts with (rather than learned ones) become more powerful or efficient. The Charisma reduction slightly affects social interactions and certain charm-related mechanics.

Autism is heritable and belongs to the birth defect category. It can pass from parent to kitten through breeding, with inbreeding increasing the chance. It can also be acquired through events or applied with a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder. The unique focus abilities are exclusive to this disorder, and the enhanced innate spell casting makes Autism particularly valuable on cats born with strong class abilities.

Strategically, Autism is one of the better birth defect disorders, especially on caster cats with powerful innate spells. The CHA -1 penalty is minor for most combat-focused builds since Charisma is not a primary combat stat. If your cat was born with strong class abilities, Autism amplifies those natural strengths. It is less valuable on cats that rely on learned abilities rather than innate ones. The unique focus abilities add extra utility on top of the spell enhancement, making Autism a desirable disorder for spellcasting builds.
