Sensory Overload

You can only equip items in your neck slot. All other equipment slots are locked.

Sensory Overload (Neck) locks the cat out of every equipment slot except its collar. The cat's senses tunnel so hard onto whatever is around its neck that weapon, head, face, and trinket gear all become intolerable. This is the Monkey Paw's reward when the "An immensely powerful item" wish rolls a collar or necklace: the cat tears off everything else to wear its new prize, and Sensory Overload (Neck) enforces that commitment for the rest of the run.

Collars often carry spell utility, mana bonuses, resistances, or on-hit effects, so a neck-only cat is usually pushed toward a caster or support identity. Losing a weapon slot means the cat's basic attack falls back to its unarmed strike, which is a heavy downgrade for damage dealers but largely irrelevant to spell-focused kits. Compare this with Wrenched Neck, which blocks the neck slot and compensates with doubled head armor effects; Sensory Overload (Neck) is the inverse bargain, and it rewards cats that already had a legendary collar earmarked for them.

Sensory Overload (Neck) is heritable, so it can pass through breeding, and it can also be applied by Monkey Paw wish or Organ Grinder Disorder Syringe. Treat it as a specialization decision rather than a normal curse: either build around the single collar slot or cure the disorder at your first opportunity. Leaving the cat stranded in the middle, with neither a strong collar nor a cure, is the worst of both worlds.
