The Caveman is a generic humanoid enemy from The Ice Age with 32 HP. Its specialAbilities pool is shared with the broader caveman archetype and covers an enormous range: spear pickup and throw, chest pounding, transformation swipes, cat-grabbing and launching as weapons, cave baby growth, and even birthing new cave babies. This breadth means any given Caveman encounter can go in many directions depending on what actions its AI selects.
All caveman-type enemies share an intense hatred of cats and will preferentially attack feline units over other targets. The spear throw is the standout ranged threat, letting them attack from range before closing in. The CaveWomanGrab ability lets them pick up a cat and use it as a thrown weapon, which is both damaging and humiliating for a well-geared frontliner. With 32 HP, Cavemen are durable enough to require focus fire or DoT strategies to take down efficiently.
The varied ability pool makes Cavemen unpredictable, so positioning that accounts for both ranged spear throws and close-range grabs is important. Keeping your squishiest cats at the back reduces the chance of having one grabbed and weaponized against the group. Sabertooth Cats will attack Cavemen on sight — if both factions appear in the same encounter, you can sometimes let them fight while you clean up stragglers.
