Damaging is a straightforward offensive elite buff that grants the enemy +2 Damage Up, increasing all damage dealt by 2 points. The enemy is tinted red to indicate its heightened lethality. This flat damage increase applies to every attack the enemy makes, including basic attacks, abilities, and any other damage sources. There are no compensating downsides like reduced health.
Damaging is universally dangerous because it amplifies every attack the enemy was already making. Enemies that attack multiple times per turn or have multi-hit abilities benefit enormously, since the +2 applies to each hit. A Damaging version of a fast enemy that attacks three times per turn effectively deals 6 extra damage per round. On enemies that already hit hard, the +2 can push their damage into one-shot range against fragile cats. Damaging combined with critical hits from Lucky creates spikes of damage that can instantly eliminate even healthy cats.
Defensive measures become more important against Damaging elites. Shield, Brace, and damage reduction effects help absorb the extra damage. Prioritize killing Damaging elites quickly to limit total extra damage taken across the fight. Healing and sustain become more valuable since your cats will take consistently more damage per round. Position fragile cats away from the Damaging elite's attack range and let tanky cats absorb the hits. If you cannot kill it fast, debuffing the enemy's Strength or Intelligence can partially offset the Damage Up bonus.
