Damaging is the boss variant of the flat damage increase buff, granting +2 Damage Up to all the boss's attacks. Every hit the boss lands deals 2 additional damage. The boss has a red tint. This flat increase applies to basic attacks, special abilities, and all other damage sources. There is no compensating stat reduction, making Damaging a pure offensive upgrade for the boss.
On bosses, +2 Damage Up is even more threatening because boss attacks typically already deal high damage, and the flat increase pushes them further into lethal territory. Boss multi-hit combos gain +2 on each individual hit, so a 3-hit combo effectively deals 6 extra damage total. Damaging bosses can one-shot cats that would survive normal boss attacks, forcing your team into a more defensive playstyle. Combined with crit chance from Lucky, a Damaging boss can deal sudden burst damage that eliminates cats from full health.
Defensive preparation is critical. Shield and Brace on your cats absorb the extra damage. Prioritize healing and keep your cats' health topped off since the damage spikes are higher than usual. Position fragile cats away from the boss's attack range and let tanky cats draw aggro. If your team lacks strong defenses, compensate with faster kill times by bringing more burst damage. Debuffing the boss's Strength or Intelligence can offset the Damage Up. Avoid trading hits with a Damaging boss unless your cats can survive the enhanced damage output.
