Daddy Shark

Movement: 1

Daddy Shark is a massive two-tile-wide predator found in The Sewers and The Rift, and one of the most lethal enemies in the entire game. With 28 HP, infinite damage, and only 1 movement, it trades speed for an instant-kill melee attack that devours any unit it can reach, restoring its own health in the process. Daddy Shark often spawns trapped or confined at the start of an encounter, but once free it becomes a relentless killing machine that no amount of defensive buffs can stop, as even Holy Shield does not protect against its consumption attack.

The Daddy Shark's most dangerous mechanic is its Bleed synergy: it gains bonus turns for every bleeding unit on the battlefield and always prioritizes bleeding targets first, including its own allies. Each bite also inflicts Bleed on the victim (if they somehow survive), creating a feedback loop where more Bleed means more bonus turns means more bites. Baby Sharks and Sharkies that appear in the same encounters are designed to inflict Bleed on your cats, directly fueling the Daddy Shark's rampage. Despite spanning two tiles, each bite targets only a single adjacent unit.

The critical counter strategy is controlling Bleed: eliminate Baby Sharks and Sharkies before they can apply Bleed stacks, and avoid using abilities that inflict Bleed on your own cats. Without bleeding targets, the Daddy Shark is limited to its base 1 movement and single action per turn, making it manageable through kiting. If permanently charmed via the Persuasion Device, the Daddy Shark becomes an extraordinarily powerful ally capable of instant-killing bosses and enemies alike. The Butcher class's Harpooner ability can also redirect the Daddy Shark's hunger toward enemy targets. Champions have 56 HP and 2 movement, making them faster and even harder to outrun when fueled by Bleed.
