Diggy Maggot

Diggy Maggot is an 8 HP maggot enemy that tunnels through the battlefield with a unique position-swapping mechanic. Rather than simply moving to a target, the Diggy Maggot burrows underground and swaps positions with its target, appearing where the target was while displacing the target to where the Diggy Maggot started.

This position-swapping displacement makes the Diggy Maggot a disorienting adversary. It can suddenly appear in the middle of your formation while simultaneously yanking a cat out of a safe position into dangerous territory. The swap can be particularly devastating in encounters with environmental hazards, as a cat swapped into lava, poison clouds, or glass tiles takes immediate environmental damage on top of the repositioning disadvantage.

The Diggy Maggot's 8 HP makes it fragile enough to eliminate quickly if you can target it. Position your most expendable or tankiest cats closer to the Diggy Maggot so that any swap displacement is less impactful. Brace or immovable status effects may prevent the swap from completing. In encounters with hazardous terrain, prioritize Diggy Maggots to prevent them from swapping cats into dangerous tiles.
