Parasite Set

Lose a random stat permanently and gain a random mutation at end of each battle

The Parasite Set is one of the most volatile builds in the game — after every battle, you permanently lose a random stat but gain a random mutation. Over a run, this can create wildly asymmetric characters with exceptional mutation synergies at the cost of some stats. Best embraced by players who understand mutations well enough to capitalize on what they're given, rather than resist the entropy.

Parasite Set pieces use parasite and infection-themed gear across head, neck, and face slots. The 3-piece bonus triggers at the end of each battle: you lose 1 point in a random stat permanently, and gain one random mutation. Mutations are passive or active gameplay modifiers that significantly alter your character's behavior. The stat loss is real and cumulative — after many battles, you'll notice noticeably lower stats in some areas while carrying a collection of exotic mutations.

Parasite Set is the mutation-farming set of choice, rivaled only by Radioactive Set. The key difference: Radioactive Set only gives mutations, while Parasite Set trades stat points for them. Characters who build high stat reserves early (multiple +Con sets, etc.) can afford to lose stats over time while accumulating powerful mutations. Pair with stats that scale mutation effects if possible. Not recommended for new players who don't have deep knowledge of the mutation pool — bad mutations with degraded stats is an extremely difficult position to recover from.
