Radioactive Set

The Radioactive Set steadily builds your mutation library with a free random mutation after every battle, and when you go down, you trigger an explosion that damages surrounding enemies without harming yourself. The mutation accumulation makes every run feel different, and the death explosion can turn a bad situation into a last-ditch win against clustered enemies. Pairs well with the Parasite Set's mutation-chasing strategy for maximum mutation stacking.

Radioactive Set pieces use nuclear and radiation-themed gear across head, neck, and face slots. The 3-piece bonus has two components: a post-battle mutation gain (one random mutation after each fight), and an on-down explosion effect that deals area damage to nearby enemies without dealing self-damage. The mutation accumulates free of charge — unlike Parasite Set, you lose nothing in exchange. The explosion radius and damage scale with character stats (unverified).

Radioactive Set is the mutation set for players who want accumulation without the stat-loss risk of Parasite Set. Over a long run, you'll collect a substantial number of mutations, creating an increasingly unique character profile. The on-down explosion is a bonus defensive mechanic that punishes enemies for clustering — combine with Planet Set's gravity pull to cluster enemies before going down for maximum explosion value. In mutation-focused builds, Radioactive and Parasite together can generate mutations at double rate if you can survive the Parasite stat loss.
