Bug

Bug is a rare melee weapon that unleashes an insect or bug-based attack on contact. It deals modest damage and applies a Poison or Infect status on hit, consistent with bug-type weaponry that harnesses biological toxins. A disease-themed weapon for cats who want to let nature do the dirty work.

Poison applied through Bug deals damage over time, making the weapon more effective than its base damage number suggests. Each successful hit starts or extends a Poison duration, letting you deal consistent chip damage through the entire encounter. Bug-type weapons may also synergize with disease or parasite mutations that amplify insect-based effects.

Bug suits DEX-based builds that can land hits reliably to spread Poison across multiple enemies over a fight. Cats with abilities that synergize with Poison, like dealing bonus damage to poisoned enemies or applying stacking toxin effects, will find Bug provides excellent setup. Avoid it against enemies with Poison immunity or high disease resistance, where the secondary effect provides no value.
