Carapace Hat
Uncommon
Uncommon head armor from the Carapace set. Grants +4 Shield and generates a status effect at the end of each turn. The Carapace set's identity is consistent: high shield values and automatic turn-end status generation across all three slots. A solid defensive set that produces passive pressure without requiring ability slots or active play, making it a reliable foundation for any build that can make use of the accumulated status effects.
At the head slot, +4 Shield is strong but not exceptional — there are rare headpieces that offer more. However, the Carapace Hat's value comes from combining +4 Shield with StatusEachTurnEnd in the head slot, a pairing that many rarer hats don't match. The turn-end status trigger fires independently of all combat actions, meaning even on passive or support-focused turns where no attacks were made, the hat still contributes status output to the fight.
Worth prioritizing for the head slot when building the full Carapace set, since completing it creates +12 total Shield and three status effects per turn across the whole loadout. The Carapace Hat as a standalone is already a competitive uncommon headpiece for defensive builds. In multi-wave runs where the fight durations are long and status accumulation has time to compound, the full Carapace set is one of the most self-sufficient uncommon-rarity armor combinations available.
