Experimental Treatment

Common

A common neck armor from the Experimental set. Applies a seeded random stat modifier: +2 of one random stat and -1 of another. The exact stats are determined per instance rather than per run, so what you get is unpredictable. Best treated as a gamble — it can be a significant boost if the random stat favors your build, or a minor liability if it doesn't. Part of a three-piece Experimental armor set that occupies all three armor slots with the same chaotic effect.

The +2 bonus to a random stat can be highly valuable if it rolls onto something your build uses — a +2 STR for a melee attacker or +2 INT for a caster is meaningful. The -1 penalty is smaller and typically won't cripple you unless it lands on a core stat. The key unknown is whether the roll is fixed for the specific item ID or re-randomized each pickup, so inspect the stats when you find one.

Worth picking up and evaluating on the spot. If the roll aligns with your build, it can be a strong common-tier filler piece that earns its neck slot. If the random stat is irrelevant or the penalty is damaging, pass on it. Running all three Experimental pieces is only advisable if all three happened to roll favorably — don't commit to the set if any piece hurts your key stats.
