Happy Helmet
Rare
Happy Helmet is a rare head armor with a massive 10 Shield, but the Fragile passive means it can shatter. When it breaks, the StatusOnBreak passive fires a status effect — turning the helmet's destruction into one final parting gift. Best treated as a one-time defensive burst that absorbs significant early punishment before breaking and triggering its payoff status.
The 10 Shield is exceptionally high and will absorb many hits before depleting. Fragile likely means the shield has some chance of breaking ahead of schedule or breaks completely once it reaches zero rather than resetting, permanently removing the item from the equipment slot. The StatusOnBreak proc fires exactly once: when the shield is exhausted. The value of that proc is the entire long-term return on this item, so understanding what status it delivers determines whether Happy Helmet is worth using as a one-time defensive investment or better skipped for a permanent helmet.
Happy Helmet works best as an early-to-mid-game bridge item: equip it knowing it will eventually break, use the 10 Shield as a large safety buffer in tough fights, and accept the free status proc when it finally depletes. In boss encounters where you know you will take heavy damage, the 10 Shield can mean the difference between surviving and dying during the burst window. Do not plan on keeping it for the whole run. Replace it with a permanent helmet after it breaks. For glass cannon builds that just need to survive one dangerous encounter, Happy Helmet provides an enormous temporary cushion.
