Leech Necklace

Rare neck armor. Adds a status effect to your spells, so every ability cast also applies a debuff or condition on the target. A strong amplifier for ability-heavy builds — high-cast-frequency cats can spread status effects constantly without spending extra actions. Pairs especially well with multi-target spells that already hit several enemies, adding status to each hit simultaneously.

AddStatusToSpells applies a status proc to every spell-type ability the cat casts, in addition to the ability's normal effects. This is distinct from AddStatusToBasicAttack (which only procs on basic swings) — the Leech Necklace specifically targets spells and abilities, meaning the more abilities cast per turn, the more status effects land. The status applied likely varies by run context or is drawn from a fixed pool associated with the item.

The Leech Necklace is best-in-slot neck armor for high-ability-frequency builds — spellcasters, support cats, or any cat that casts two or more abilities per turn. Unlike most neck armors, it provides no Shield, so the entire value comes from the spell-status application. On builds with one ability per turn or heavy basic-attack focus, the necklace underperforms compared to Shield-providing alternatives. Pair it with multi-target AoE spells for maximum simultaneous status spread.
