Match Stick

A rare trinket that inflicts 1 Burn on every basic attack. Burn is damage over time, so even light hits leave enemies ticking down each turn. Pairs well with the Ember trinket (which adds +1 fire damage and +1 Burn) and the Mage's Fire Aspect ability — stack multiple Burn sources and ordinary attacks start dealing serious sustained damage.

The Burn proc fires on every basic attack, not just weapon attacks. That means each turn you attack applies 1 Burn to the target, which stacks. After a few turns against the same enemy, the accumulated Burn ticks become a significant portion of your total damage output. The Match Stick ensures this happens reliably regardless of enemy evasion when paired with the Spoon Bender.

Best on cats that attack every single turn with their basic attack as the primary action — Fighters, Hunters, and melee builds. Combining Match Stick with Ember gets 2 Burn per basic attack plus fire element damage amplification. Fire Aspect adds Burn immunity to the wearer and more Burn on melee hits, creating a fire-based attack build centered on accumulating Burn stacks rapidly.
