Nisshōki Bandana

Rare

Nisshōki Bandana is a rare head armor that triggers a passive effect when the wearer drops below a health threshold. The rising sun motif fits the comeback mechanic — something activates when things look grim. Like other threshold effects, it's most valuable on cats that regularly dip into danger zone territory but survive long enough to benefit from the activation.

Threshold triggers fire once the wearer's HP crosses the defined cutoff, either triggering once per combat when first breached or continuously while the wearer remains in the danger zone depending on implementation. This means the effect can be intentionally engineered: running the wearer at low HP to keep the proc active, or pairing with healing that bounces HP across the threshold repeatedly to chain triggers. The bandana contributes nothing until HP drops, so in fights where the wearer takes little damage the head slot provides no passive value and relies entirely on the trigger activating.

Nisshōki Bandana works best on cats built to operate in the low-HP range: brawlers with lifesteal that recover after dipping, or fragile glass cannons that fight at the edge of death and need a burst of power or survivability to stay alive. Pair with effects that trigger at low HP for a compounding low-health build. Avoid it on tanky frontliners who rarely reach the threshold. If the activated effect is a strong offensive boost, intentionally managing HP to stay just below the trigger point can dramatically increase damage output across the run.
