Staff of the Underworld

A rare Necromancer and Bone set weapon unlocked by completing The Jurassic as the Necromancer class. Its active is a 1-damage melee hit with Knockback 1, but the passive is the real draw: you start every battle with a Zombie Cat familiar already on the field. That free summon gives necromancer builds an immediate presence without spending an action, and the zombie can absorb hits, block movement, or trigger any abilities that interact with undead allies. Part of the Necromancer and Bone sets.

The Zombie Cat passive fires at the start of every battle, meaning you always enter combat with a free extra unit. This is uniquely powerful because it's guaranteed rather than requiring an action to summon. The zombie can serve as a damage sponge, drawing enemy attention away from your cat during the critical opening turns. Abilities that benefit from having undead allies present gain full value from the first turn onward.

The cornerstone of summon-focused Necromancer builds. Combine with Reanimate, Dark Ritual, and Shovel for a full undead army strategy. Even without a full Necromancer kit, the free zombie each fight adds meaningful board presence at no cost. The Bone set membership provides additional synergy with other Bone items.
