Backflip

Backflips out of the way the next time it's targeted.

Backflip is a reactive evasion buff that causes the unit to move to an adjacent unoccupied tile when targeted by a spell or attack. This automatic repositioning occurs before the attack lands, potentially moving the unit out of range and causing the attack to miss. One Backflip stack is consumed per activation, making it a limited-use evasion tool.

The automatic repositioning from Backflip can be both beneficial and risky. While it may dodge the incoming attack, the new position is not player-controlled, potentially moving the unit into hazardous terrain or away from allies. The movement targets an adjacent unoccupied tile, so if all adjacent tiles are occupied, Backflip may not be able to activate.

Backflip is most effective for squishy units that need to avoid individual high-damage attacks. It provides a different kind of protection than Stealth (which gives dodge chance) or Shield (which absorbs damage), instead physically removing the unit from the attack's path. Backflip pairs well with ranged builds that benefit from unpredictable repositioning, and with other evasion tools to create layers of attack avoidance.
