Status Effect
Elite Buff: Flaming (Boss)
Fire Immune. Leaves a trail of fire. Applies Burn 1 to attackers.
Internal engine status effect. This is the boss-specific variant of the Flaming elite buff. Flaming wraps the enemy in fire, causing their attacks to apply Burn and leaving fire trails as they move. The boss version additionally causes the boss to apply 1 Burn to any unit that attacks them in melee.
The melee retaliation Burn from the boss variant makes melee engagement a constant source of fire damage on your cats. Combined with fire trail creation during movement, a Flaming boss turns the entire battlefield into a hazardous zone over time. Fire tiles left behind persist and damage any unit that steps on them, restricting your team's movement options as the fight progresses.
All fire-element attacks are completely ineffective against Flaming bosses due to fire immunity. Switch to non-fire damage types. Ranged attacks avoid the melee Burn retaliation. Wet status or water terrain can counteract the fire effects. The standard version, Elite Buff: Flaming, does not have the melee retaliation component but still grants fire immunity and fire trail creation.
