Status Effect

Wet

Wet.

Wet is a water-element status effect that fundamentally changes how a unit interacts with other elements. A Wet unit conducts electricity, cannot be Burned, and is always Frozen by any ice effect (rather than merely Slowed). Wet also causes the unit to apply the Water element to any tiles it passes over, changing the battlefield terrain. The status persists until the unit ends its turn outside of a water tile, at which point it naturally dries off.

Wet is often applied as a consequence of other elemental interactions rather than directly. When a Frozen unit's last Freeze stack is removed naturally, it becomes Wet. When a Burning unit is hit by ice, or a Frozen unit is hit by fire, both cases result in the Wet status. Standing on water tiles or being hit by water-element attacks also applies Wet. This makes Wet a transitional state that sits at the center of elemental cycling, enabling devastating follow-up combos with electric or ice attacks.

The tactical implications of Wet are significant. On one hand, being Wet provides complete immunity to Burn, which is a useful defensive state against fire-heavy enemies. On the other hand, Wet units are extremely vulnerable to ice attacks (guaranteed Freeze instead of Slow) and conduct electricity, making them susceptible to chain lightning and Stun effects. In ice-heavy encounters, keeping your cats dry is essential to avoid being perma-frozen. Conversely, you can exploit Wet on enemies by applying water first, then following up with ice spells for guaranteed Freeze locks, or electric attacks for amplified damage and Stun application.
