Status Effect
Elite Buff: Resonant
Whenever an enemy casts a spell, gain All Stats Up 1 and heal 1.
Internal engine status effect. This is the status applied to elite enemies with the Resonant modifier. Resonant causes the enemy's attacks to create shockwaves or chain effects that hit additional targets near the primary target.
The resonance turns single-target attacks into area-of-effect threats, punishing clustered cat formations. Even a melee attack from a Resonant elite can splash damage to adjacent cats, making tight positioning dangerous. The chain damage may be reduced per bounce, but the total damage output across multiple targets far exceeds a normal attack.
Spread your team out to minimize the number of chain targets available. Keeping at least one tile of space between cats prevents the resonance from bouncing to adjacent allies. If you must cluster for healing or buff auras, time it carefully around the Resonant elite's turn to avoid catching multiple cats in a single chain. The Resonant modifier gains stacks when enemies cast spells nearby, potentially stacking All Stats Up.
