Birdemic is a creature-spawn weather effect in Mewgenics that adds 2 to 4 aggressive, hostile birds to each battle encounter. Named as a loving reference to the notoriously low-budget 2010 horror film "Birdemic: Shock and Terror," this weather is the dangerous counterpart to the benign Bird Migration.
Unlike the neutral, wandering birds of Bird Migration, Birdemic birds are actively hostile. They attack your cats, deal meaningful damage, and can disrupt your positioning and turn economy. With 2 to 4 extra hostile birds added to every fight, encounter density increases substantially, and fights that were already challenging become significantly harder.
Birdemic birds tend to be sturdier than standard birds, with higher HP and more damaging attacks. They cannot be ignored safely, as their accumulated damage over multiple turns will wear down your team. AoE abilities are effective for clearing Birdemic birds alongside the main enemy roster, and focusing them down early prevents their damage from compounding.
Birdemic can appear in any biome and is classified as an uncommon weather. It represents a noticeable difficulty increase, especially in encounters that are already packed with enemies. Consider bringing AoE-heavy or high-damage team compositions when Birdemic is active.
