Fly Swarm is a creature-spawn weather effect in Mewgenics that adds a random number of hostile flies to each battle encounter. Unlike the neutral frogs from Raining Frogs, these flies are genuine enemies that will attack your cats and need to be dealt with.
The extra flies increase overall enemy density, which has several implications. Fights last longer because there are more targets to eliminate. More enemies mean more incoming attacks per round, which puts additional pressure on your cats' health pools and healing resources. In zones where fights are already packed with enemies, the additional flies can push encounters into overwhelming territory.
On the positive side, more enemies means more experience points. Flies are generally low-HP targets that are easy to kill, so they provide quick XP without being individually dangerous. AoE abilities are exceptionally efficient against fly-heavy encounters, clearing clusters of flies in a single action while your other cats focus on the main enemy threats.
The main risk of Fly Swarm is that flies are often tiny and hard to see in Mewgenics' detailed art style. They can blend into the background, especially in biomes with dark or busy visual environments. Using the tactical view toggle (middle mouse button) helps identify all enemy positions, including hard-to-spot flies.
Fly Swarm can appear in any biome and is one of the more common weather effects. Its impact ranges from trivial (in easy encounters) to meaningful (in already-challenging fights where extra enemies push the fight past comfortable turn counts).
