Stealth Mission

CharacterTypeGainsStatusAtBattleStart: {"tag":"any","Stealth":1}

Stealth Mission is a rare status-modifier weather effect in Mewgenics that grants Stealth to every unit at the start of each battle. All cats and all enemies begin the fight hidden, creating a tense opening phase where both sides maneuver for position before the first blow is struck.

Stealth prevents a unit from being directly targeted by attacks or abilities. Units remain stealthed until they perform an offensive action, take AoE damage, or are otherwise revealed. This means the first round of every fight under Stealth Mission is a pure positioning phase: both sides move into favorable spots without engaging, setting up the initial exchange that happens when stealth breaks.

This first-strike dynamic heavily favors classes and builds that can capitalize on positional advantage. Rogue and Assassin builds are the natural winners, as they have abilities that deal bonus damage from stealth or extend stealth duration. A Rogue that positions behind an enemy while stealthed and then opens with a backstab attack deals devastating damage.

AoE abilities serve as an effective counter to enemy Stealth. Even though you cannot target individual stealthed enemies, AoE attacks hit everything in their area, revealing and damaging stealthed units. If you suspect enemies are clustered in a specific area, launching an AoE ability into that zone can break their stealth and give your team information about their positions.

Stealth Mission can appear in any biome and is classified as a rare weather. It creates some of the most strategically rich opening turns in the game, where the decisions you make before the first attack matters more than the attack itself.
