The Mother Boss Guide

Overview

The Mother is the final boss of The End chapter in Mewgenics. With 450 HP, 3 ATK, 0 movement, and 2 turns per round, she operates by overwhelming her opposition with spreading segments rather than moving to attack directly. The fight is as much a board-control challenge as a DPS race, requiring crowd control abilities and careful management of the expanding threat.

Key Mechanics

Segment Expansion

Every turn, The Mother gradually expands across the arena in weak 5 HP segments. These segments spread semi-randomly to any adjacent unoccupied tile and gain +1 Constitution each round if left alive. If a segment loses connection to the main body, it dies automatically. This creates a spreading mass that gradually covers the arena if not managed.

Incapacitation

When a segment spawns on a tile occupied by one of your units, that unit becomes trapped. The Mother will eventually consume incapacitated units if they are not freed quickly. Keep a reserve unit ready to free allies when they get caught.

Pillar Attacks

The Mother occasionally spawns pillars under your units, dealing 3 damage and knocking them toward her main body. These pillars have Thorns status, so attacking them damages the attacker.

Herald Phase (25% HP)

At 25% health (around 112 HP), all pillars transform into Herald enemies that summon shadows. This escalation makes the final stretch of the fight significantly more chaotic, so try to have your burst damage ready for this threshold.

Strategy

Crowd control and AoE abilities are essential. Abilities like Spin to Win or Shockwave excel at clearing segments before they spiral out of control. The segments only have 5 HP each, so even weak AoE attacks will clear them.

Ranged units are your best bet for freeing trapped allies, as they can attack the trapping segment from a safe distance without being near the expanding mass. Always keep at least one mobile unit in reserve for rescue duty.

Items that trigger on enemy kills (like Red Cap or Luck Drain) are extremely effective here because every segment kill counts. Debuff items like Leech Brood can apply multiple status effects simultaneously across the many segments.

Focus damage on The Mother's main body whenever the board is relatively clear. Do not let segments accumulate for more than two rounds before clearing them, as their Constitution gain makes them progressively harder to destroy.
