Anemia

When you take damage, you have a 10% chance to gain Bleed 1.

Anemia gives your cat a 10% chance to gain Bleed 1 whenever it takes damage. Bleed is a damage-over-time effect that ticks each turn, so triggering Bleed from taking hits creates a feedback loop where damage leads to more damage. The 10% trigger rate is relatively low, meaning most hits will not cause bleeding, but over a long fight with many incoming attacks, it will activate multiple times.

Anemia is heritable and can pass from parent to kitten through breeding. It can also be acquired through events or applied with a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder. The Bleed 1 application is minor per instance, but Bleed stacks, so multiple triggers can build up to significant ongoing damage. Cats that take many hits per battle are at higher risk of accumulating dangerous Bleed stacks.

Anemia is a mild negative disorder that should be replaced when possible. The 10% trigger rate is low enough to be barely noticeable in short fights but can become problematic in long, damage-heavy battles where Bleed stacks accumulate. Cats with healing or Bleed-cleansing abilities can manage the condition. High-dodge cats rarely trigger it since they avoid damage in the first place. Overall, Anemia is a minor nuisance rather than a severe handicap.
