Phony

Phony causes your cat to start each battle with full mana, which is a significant advantage for spell-heavy builds. Normally, cats begin fights with limited or zero mana and must build it up through attacks or items before casting their most powerful spells. With Phony, you can open every battle with your strongest abilities immediately, potentially eliminating threats before they can act.

Phony is heritable and can pass from parent to kitten through breeding. It can also be acquired through events or applied with a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder. Despite being classified as a disorder, Phony is almost entirely beneficial with no apparent combat downside. The name suggests the cat is faking something, but mechanically it just gives you a massive head start on mana at the beginning of every battle.

Strategically, Phony is ideal on caster cats with expensive, high-impact spells. Classes that normally struggle with early-battle mana starvation become dramatically stronger when they can open with their full spell rotation. It pairs well with Triskaidekaphobia (spells cost 0 mana) for unlimited early burst, though the 13-spell death limit makes that combination risky. Phony is less valuable on melee-focused cats that rarely cast spells, so ensure the cat carrying it has a spell-heavy loadout to maximize the full mana advantage.
