Triskaidekaphobia

Your spells cost 0 mana. The 13th spell you cast on an adventure kills you and destroys your body.

Triskaidekaphobia makes all your spells cost 0 mana, removing the resource cost entirely from your spell rotation. This is an incredibly powerful effect that lets you cast your strongest spells every turn without worrying about mana management. However, there is a lethal catch: the 13th spell you cast during an adventure kills your cat instantly and destroys its body, preventing revival. This creates an intense risk-reward calculation where you must track your spell count carefully.

Triskaidekaphobia is heritable and can pass from parent to kitten through breeding. It can also be acquired through events or applied with a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder. The name references the fear of the number 13, and the disorder's death trigger on the 13th spell is a thematic implementation of that superstition. The spell counter persists across battles within the same adventure, so you cannot reset it between fights.

Strategically, Triskaidekaphobia rewards careful spell economy. You have 12 free spell casts per adventure before death, so make each one count. High-impact spells that normally cost lots of mana become free, letting you front-load enormous damage in the first few battles. It pairs dangerously with Tourette's Syndrome, which can waste spell charges on random involuntary casts. Phony (full mana at battle start) is redundant since spells already cost 0. This disorder is best on cats that can win battles through basic attacks and abilities while saving their 12 spell charges for critical moments.
