Disorder

Pica

When you collect a coin or scrap pickup, heal instead of gaining the pickup's normal effect.

Pica causes your cat to heal instead of gaining the normal effect whenever it collects a coin or scrap pickup on the battlefield. This means every coin and scrap becomes a healing source, but you lose the income and crafting materials those pickups would normally provide. In battles with many pickup drops, Pica can provide substantial healing, but the economic cost of forgoing coins and scraps adds up over a long adventure.

Pica is heritable and can pass from parent to kitten through breeding. It can also be acquired through events or applied with a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder. The disorder is named after the real-world condition where individuals compulsively eat non-food items, and the in-game version reflects this by having the cat "eat" coins and scraps for healing. Only the cat with Pica is affected; other party members can still collect pickups normally.

Strategically, Pica works best on tanky frontline cats that take a lot of damage and benefit from passive healing. If the cat is frequently near pickup drops, the healing can keep it alive without needing dedicated healer support. The economic downside is less impactful if other party members handle pickup collection. Avoid putting Pica on cats that you route through pickup-dense areas for income purposes. In builds that prioritize combat sustain over resource accumulation, Pica is a solid healing tool.
