Disorder
Williams Syndrome
Your attacks may Charm.
Williams Syndrome gives your cat's attacks a chance to inflict the Charm status effect on enemies. Charmed enemies temporarily become allies, attacking their former teammates instead of your party. This can dramatically swing battles in your favor by turning dangerous foes into temporary assets, especially when you manage to charm high-damage enemies or those with powerful area-of-effect abilities.
Williams Syndrome is a heritable birth defect disorder, meaning it most commonly appears on kittens at birth rather than through adventure events. Inbreeding increases the likelihood of birth defects, so closely related parents have a higher chance of producing Williams Syndrome offspring. The disorder can also be acquired through events or applied with a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder. Its Charm effect triggers on a per-attack basis, so cats with faster attack rates or multi-hit abilities will proc it more frequently.
Strategically, Williams Syndrome is one of the better birth defect disorders to roll on a kitten. The Charm proc has no downside to the cat itself, making it a pure offensive bonus. It works particularly well on cats that attack frequently, such as those with Fidgety or multi-strike basic attacks. In battles against multiple enemies, a well-timed Charm can create chaos in the enemy ranks. The only limitation is that Charm is less useful against bosses who may have resistance to crowd control effects. Pairing Williams Syndrome with a second beneficial disorder like The Shining or Brave can create a very strong frontline cat.
