The Shining

The Shining makes your cat's attacks unable to miss, guaranteeing that every attack connects with its target. Miss chance in Mewgenics can come from various sources including enemy dodge, miss chance debuffs, and certain disorder penalties like Gambling Addiction (+33% miss chance) or Punctured Eye (+10% miss chance). The Shining overrides all of these, ensuring 100% hit accuracy at all times.

The Shining is heritable and can pass from parent to kitten through breeding. It can also be acquired through events or applied with a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder. This is one of the most universally powerful disorders in the game since it has no downside and its benefit applies to every attack. It directly counters high-evasion enemies and neutralizes any miss chance penalties your cat may have from other sources.

Strategically, The Shining is excellent on any cat but particularly valuable on heavy hitters where a missed attack represents a large damage loss. It pairs perfectly with Gambling Addiction (which adds +33% miss chance but presumably has some other benefit) by negating the miss penalty entirely. Combined with Brain Dead for level-up bonuses or Nudist for dodge stacking, The Shining helps create an optimally powerful cat. It is one of the top-tier disorders alongside Brain Dead, Immortal, and Nudist that you should always keep if given the option.
