Absorbant creates a global mana burn aura that drains 1 unused mana from all units at the end of their turns and converts it into damage against them. Any mana your cats do not spend before ending their turn is lost and hurts them in the process. The elite has a cyan tint and displays an absorbing particle effect to indicate this aura is active. This forces every cat on your team to either spend all their mana each turn or take damage for the leftover.

Absorbant is most dangerous against teams that rely on mana-intensive strategies or cats that naturally generate more mana than they can spend in a single turn. Classes like the Mage that accumulate mana for big spells are punished because banking mana becomes self-destructive. The damage adds up quickly in longer fights, especially when multiple cats are each losing 1-2 health per turn from unspent mana. Absorbant on a tanky enemy that prolongs the fight amplifies this attrition damage enormously.

The key counter is efficient mana usage. Plan your ability rotations so that each cat spends all available mana every turn, even if it means using lower-priority abilities. Abilities with flexible mana costs or 1-mana options help dump leftover mana safely. Classes like the Berserker or Brawler that naturally spend mana aggressively through basic attacks are less affected. Killing the Absorbant elite quickly reduces total attrition damage, so burst it down before the mana drain accumulates across many rounds.
