Depressing is the boss variant of the global Depression Aura, debuffing all of your cats regardless of distance by reducing their stats by 1 stack each. The elite has a blue-purple tint. The aura persists as long as the Depressing elite is alive, and there is no way to avoid the debuff through positioning alone since the range is global.

On bosses, Depressing is even more punishing because boss fights tend to be longer, meaning your team suffers the stat drain for many more rounds. The cumulative impact of reduced Strength, Intelligence, Constitution, Speed, and other stats across a lengthy boss encounter significantly degrades your team's performance. Healing is less effective due to reduced Constitution, damage is lower, and movement is more restricted. Depressing bosses combined with other elite buffs create compounding difficulty that can feel overwhelming.

Even more so than with regular Depressing enemies, the priority is to end the fight as quickly as possible. Every additional round under the global debuff costs your team more effectiveness. Burst damage compositions that can shorten the boss fight are ideal. Pre-buffing your cats with All Stats Up or similar effects before engaging can offset the penalty for the critical early rounds. If the boss has minions, ignore them and focus entirely on the boss to lift the aura. Classes with abilities that scale independently of stats, such as fixed-damage effects or percentage-based mechanics, are less impacted by the stat reduction.
